Why do we collect your information? We help you, the consumer, shop for car insurance and other related products by connecting you to insurance companies, insurance agents, discount program representatives and other vendors, including vendors who also help match consumers with insurance providers or other vendors.

Information We Collect: When you visit the Site, or use the Services we may collect certain information about your visit and usage of the Site and the Services in one or more of the following ways:

Information You Provide to Us. The Services will require you to provide or submit certain Personal Information in order to be able to use them. Some features or services require you to provide Personal Information which may be collected by the Providers on their landing pages, as described below. “Personal Information” generally means any information that may be used, either alone or in combination with other information to personally identify an individual, including, but not limited to your first and last name, telephone number, email address, a home or other physical address, zip code, gender, date of birth, social security number, credit card number, expiration date and other information such as financial account information, income information, employment information, media and health history information, make and model of your vehicle and driving record. If you want to receive more information about any such Providers and their products, or if you otherwise want to pursue a transaction with any Providers, and you click the relevant icon, you will be directed to a landing page or online form that is owned or operated by such Providers; similarly you may also be directed to a landing page through other websites and online services owned by other third parties, where you may be prompted to provide Personal Information. The information that you provided on such landing page will be collected directly by the Providers who provided it and will include its own privacy policy and data collection practices information. Reviews, Articles and Promotions. The Site may contain articles, reviews or promotions displaying information about our Services, Providers and their affiliates, and Provider’s and their affiliates services and products. The Site may also offer you the opportunity to subscribe or participate in some promotional activity (some of which may be administered by us and some of which may be administered by third party services which we engage). Any interactions that you may have with the foregoing, may require you to provide certain Personal Information such as your name, phone number and email address. In which case, your submission of your information will also be provided directly to the applicable Provider(s) or Third Party Sites and will be used according such Providers’ or third party marketers own privacy policy.

Information We Collect From You.

Interactions and Usage. In order to provide our Services, operate the Site, and provide information to our Providers, and our corporate group, we collect information through certain third-party analytics tools about your interaction and use of the Services, such as: URLs from which you were directed to the Site and to which you are referred from the Site, internal URLs of the Site in which you visited and your actions with respect to the Services, such as view or click information. In addition, the Site may automatically gather data about your IP address, geo-location information, mobile device, browser type, browser language or operating system. We may use third party contractors to collect and aggregate this information.

Device/Location Information. In such cases, any additional information which you provided to Providers may be provided back to us for the purposes of tracking leads, referrals and engagements with our Providers.

Consent, Choice and Modifications:

It is your voluntary decision whether to provide us with any of your information, but if you refuse to provide your information we may not allow you certain uses of the Site or the Services. You are under no legal obligation to provide us with Personal Information (and you acknowledge that you, providing us, with Personal Information is done freely). How We Use Your Information:

You agree that by submitting your information on the Site, you agree to receive mobile marketing including, but not limited to, text-message based marketing (“SMS Messages”), from us and our Providers, or other third party marketers. You further acknowledge that based on your individual carrier and plan, you may incur charges associated with such SMS Messages and you agree to be solely responsible for such charges. If you choose to provide your information to our Site, we will share your information, which you provided to us or that we obtained from third-party sources, with Providers, our corporate group entities or other third parties that may provide it to other insurance companies or credit card institutions.

Insurance companies that receive your information may use it to assist in providing you offers for insurance. You further acknowledge and agree that each Provider or other insurance company that receives your quote request from this Site or from our corporate group may confirm your information through the use of a consumer reporting agency, which may include among other things, your driving record or credit score to determine eligibility and accurate rates.

Third parties who perform services on our behalf. We may employ other companies and individuals to perform certain functions on our behalf, such as analyzing data and providing marketing analysis. These agents have access to use information as needed to perform their duties for our Site.

Compliance with the law or protecting our rights. We will share your information in order to respond to court orders, subpoenas, other legal processes or in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, to establish or exercise our legal rights, to defend against legal claims or as otherwise required by law.
