As we’re all aware, the economy and the cost of things are paramount these days. No matter what I might be considering purchasing, it’s likely to cost more than I thought it would. As far as I can tell from perusing social media and Reddit boards, countless others feel the same.
Luckily, Black Friday sales for 2024, with their potential for deep discounts, are fast approaching, already happening, or about to happen. If you’re like me, you probably have a list of items to look for—some of them are necessities, and others luxury or ‘because you deserve it’ items. And, considering how the last couple of years have been, I think we all very likely deserve more than we think.
If shoes are on your list, I’ve got you covered with the latest deals and the best sales to make your Black Friday shoe discount scores come true.

Always on the fourth Thursday of the month, Thanksgiving falls late in 2024; not until November 28th. This means Black Friday, the traditional shopping kickoff to the holiday season, happens on November 29th, 2024 and ends November 30th.
This is the day when you can expect to find your favorite products on sale, often for deep discounts of up to 50 to 70% off, though the average falls somewhere between 20 and 37%. Some of these prices exist for a mere 24 hours, while some last the entire weekend and into the following Monday—known as Cyber Monday to retailers and shoppers.
Some retailers offer early Black Friday deals and some extend their sales into the second week of December. Many of these sale items are available in limited quantities, so they have the potential to sell out. As far as shoes and other apparel items go, popular sizes may not be available later in the day or weekend.
You might also find certain sales that offer discounts when you purchase more items, such as buy two, get $50 off, buy three, get $100 off, and so forth.
What kind of Black Friday shoe deals did they have last year?
Last year, I found shoe deals ranging from 20% to 60% off. Many brands, including Nike and Converse, implemented a sale code to enter during checkout that unlocked savings. These codes are usually indicated on the brand or retail website as well as in marketing emails.
Stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods featured 50% off popular sneaker shoe brands like Reebok and Adidas, while Saks Fifth Avenue had designer shoes on sale for up to 70% off (final sales, so no returns allowed).
Outdoor retailer REI, whose physical stores are closed on Black Friday, had hiking boots, running shoes, and walking shoes for greatly discounted prices during Cyber Week.
This year, online sales during Cyber Week start on December 1st or 2nd, depending on the retailer.
Setting up Google alerts for the specific kind of shoe deal you’re interested in is an excellent way to stay informed as brands and retailers release their deals. To set one up of your very own, go to Google alerts
and type your search parameters into the box. For example: ‘Black Friday women’s shoes,’ ‘Black Friday Nike deals,’ ‘Black Friday designer shoe sale,’ and so on. After setting up an alert, click on the little ‘settings’ button on the top right and decide whether you want to receive all your alerts in an email once a day or in real time as they happen.
And don’t forget about Google’s Deals' page, which allows you to search for shopping deals, save products, and track prices. To access, simply type ‘shop deals.’ For more specific searches, type ‘shop designer shoe deals’.
Consider signing up for email subscriptions or text alerts from brands that you like and/or from stores like:
Don’t forget shoe-specific sites and brands such as:

Also, consider following your favorite brands on Instagram.
To avoid getting caught up in the excitement of the sale and purchasing too much, consider keeping a checklist of what you’re looking for and your ideal size for your favorite brands and styles.
For instance, maybe you’re in the market for a new pair of snow boots, shoes for flat feet, or a new pair of running shoes.
Your list could include things like:
I also like to make a list of specific styles I like, which helps narrow down the choices when faced with a long list of possibilities. I’m one of those people who can get overwhelmed with too many choices and end up agonizing over which is the correct one. This is why I avoid shopping in person at large stores like Target or Walmart; you can lose hours of your life in those. (Home Depot is the same!)
Whether you yearn for a particular Nike sneaker model or a Louboutin, Black Friday deals can be found on a plethora of websites and in brick-and-mortar shops, including:
