Work from home? Joggers. Grocery run? Joggers. Meeting up for drinks? Joggers. The hugely popular, multi-purpose athletic pants aren’t just for lounging at home or hitting the gym anymore. With an increasing number of guys trading in dress pants for elastic waistbands now that, you know, going into the office is sort of optional, the modern jogger has become essential. (Even the best men’s clothing brands offer a version of these pants.) And it’s all for good reason too: They’re cool, comfortable, and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
“Joggers, with their sleeker profile, offer the perfect blend of comfort and fashion-forward style, making them a wardrobe staple,” says Ivor Boyd, Managing Director of Logans Fashions. And forget the frumpy, “lazy” versions you may have worn in years past, which were more aligned stylistically with men’s sweatpants. “Designers, stylists and trendsetters figured out a way to make ‘comfortable’ look chic and appealing” with the modern jogger,” notes NYC-based Fashion Stylist Donnell Baldwin, a former Style Editor/Director for MR PORTER and the former Men’s Styling Manager for Ralph Lauren.
From sporty, slim-fitting options to more elevated tailored styles, we’ve rounded up the top men’s joggers to try now.
The nearly 2,000 rave reviews speak for themselves. If you’re over 6 feet and want a pair of premium joggers that aren’t highwaters, these Public Rec All Day Everyday Joggers are a smart investment—and they come in nine cool colors. Instead of simply selecting your waist size, you choose your correct inseam length too, which ranges from 28-36, ensuring a perfect fit for even the longest legs. About time.
DUER’s popular No Sweat Joggers prove you don’t have to sacrifice comfort for style when it comes to work pants. In fact, you can show up to the office in these streamlined joggers that look just as good, if not better, than your co-worker’s designer chinos.
Crafted for comfort in a stretchy fabric, these polished pants feature thoughtful design details, like a zippered thigh pocket for storage, a signature hidden gusset, drawstring waistband and a zip fly, to elevate any look. The fabric is also moisture-wicking and anti-bacterial so you stay fresh.
Short in length, but certainly not in style. The Bonobos Homestretch Jogger is available in three different lengths, with a short inseam (28-30”) option for guys 5’9” and under.
Made to move in with a soft, stretchy and slightly thicker ponte knit fabric, these refined joggers look super sharp but are the dream to wear, no matter what you’re doing. They provide the all-day comfort of sweatpants with a polished appearance. Just pull them on and go anywhere. We promise it’ll look like you tried even if you didn’t.

The California-based athleisure brand Vuori is basically synonymous with comfort. These joggers are ultra lightweight, moisture-wicking, soft to the touch and soft on skin, and with the perfect amount of stretch. They also have a shorter 28” inseam so your ankles aren’t weighed down.
In addition to doing our own research and poring over plenty of reviews, we spoke to two men’s style experts to discover what makes a great men’s jogger and the current brands crushing it when it comes to quality, comfort, materials, trends, and clever style details (like well-placed pockets).
According to Boyd, a great pair of joggers combines comfort, quality and versatility. “Today's trends lean towards a slim, tailored fit, steering clear of overly baggy designs. This presents a sleek, modern look that's still relaxed enough for everyday wear,” he notes. When selecting the perfect pair for you, here are a few things to keep in mind.
“Key comfort features to look for are soft, breathable materials—like cotton or blends with some stretch—an adjustable waistband and well-placed pockets for practicality,” says Boyd. A drawstring to adjust the fit is a nice touch too. You’ll also want to consider the main use of the joggers. Are you solely wearing them to the gym? In that case, you’ll want something as lightweight and moisture-wicking as your favorite workout shirt. Or maybe some well-tailored joggers you can pass off as work pants? Then go for something a bit tailored in a non-performance fabric.
Joggers are not a one-size-fits-all clothing item. “It's crucial to try different brands and styles to find the perfect fit for your body type and personal style,” says Boyd. Baldwin agrees. “The best thing to do is try on many different options to see if you like joggers with elastic gathering at the ankles, drawstring pull ties to make them as tight as you want or a super wide leg like a great pair of cozy yoga pants.”
From bold and bright to all-neutral-everything, there are so many color options when it comes to today’s joggers. If you already have a strong style sensibility and feel pretty comfortable expressing yourself through fashion, Baldwin recommends trying all the colors. “Go as bright as you can!” If you’re on the more conservative side though, he suggests playing it safe with colors like khaki, gray (mainly charcoal), black, cream, olive and navy. “These are colors that are pretty standard and could easily pair well with anything in your closet—from super casual to more styled, punchy, eye-grabbing looks.”
“Joggers have evolved quite a bit from the ones you might have worn in gym class in high school,” says Baldwin. “Most brands carry some version of them ranging from casual to chic.” Baldwin personally really enjoys the newer-style joggers that are made to look like proper trousers, giving you the ability to look very styled, polished and well put together!
For Baldwin, monochromatic is the way to go for styling joggers. “Monochromatic dressing has an interesting way of making you appear more sleek and sophisticated in general but especially when you're wearing joggers,” he says. He personally likes to mix textures. “So if my goal is to feel comfy but still look styled, I opt for khaki-colored joggers that I can pair with a khaki cable knit sweater (or a classic polo), as well as a khaki/tan overcoat and crisp white sneakers to anchor the entire look.”
For Boyd, it’s more about personal preference. “You'll find joggers paired with everything from hoodies and sneakers for a sporty look to a blazer and loafers for a dressier approach.”
There are so many brands making great men’s joggers now, it’s tough to narrow it down. However, “Nike and Adidas have been consistently delivering quality joggers that cater to both sporty and casual aesthetics,” notes Boyd. “For a more elevated look, Bonobos and Lululemon offer joggers with excellent fits and premium materials that transition well from a day at home to an outing in town.”
Baldwin is keen on multiple brands, finding success with Ralph Lauren, Nautica, Express, Lululemon, Todd Snyder, Gap, Club Monaco, and LFant (a personal fave of his).
“Joggers are more fitted and taper towards the ankle, while sweatpants are looser and baggy,” explains Boyd. The best joggers for men can be paired with a simple white tee and slides for a casual cool look or styled with a collared shirt and some fresh Nikes for a night out.
Absolutely not. Joggers are on-trend for every age, it’s just a matter of choosing a brand that caters to your personal style and comfort level.
